| Fall is the Boys/Bx Official Season. Starting in August, our Boys/Bx* Teams will begin practicing for their 2024 Fall Season. We will have a Varsity Team and a JV Team. There are no cuts from JV, and the Varsity Team will consist of returning players and JV players called up before games begin. Practices will start on Monday, Aug 19th from 4-6pm at the Lincoln Park Field, just south of the North playground. Be sure to bring a light shirt and a dark shirt, cleats, and a water bottle. Practices will be Mon-Fri that week, and the next, ending on Friday, August 30th. Practices are not mandatory these two weeks, however, this is a great time to get back in shape and build stamina, as well as meet and work with teammates and coaches. Interested players may come to one practice to check it out, but must be registered with DiscNW to continue to practice after that. Once school starts, practices and games will be on weekdays, as early as 4pm and some dates end as late as 9pm, and our fields are all over West Seattle. The schedule will be posted soon. We know its difficult for many players to make it around West Seattle to the fields and also games around the city, so we will try our best to help. We have found most players that don’t drive either bus after school, set up friend carpools, or could potentially bike. Players will pay two fees to play with Westside Ultimate. The Player Fee is the one that you pay to DiscNW when you register, and is on a sliding scale, and is not reported to the team admin. The Team Fee is one that we charge to cover the costs of the fields, coaches and team expenses. Our Team Fee is $200, and we have many levels to accommodate every budget. All players must select an option and complete payment at our Square Store (if opted) to be eligible to play in their first game. Donations to cover other players’ fees are gratefully accepted (unfortunately we can’t provide a tax receipt). Even more information (how is that possible?!) will be sent directly to the registered players while we ramp up to games. Information about uniforms is further down in this email. We will have an online Team Q&A Meeting, Sunday, August 18th @ 8pm, if you are not registered for a team at that time, please rsvp for the link. If you played Varsity last year, you will receive instructions on how to register as Varsity this year. All other players will register with the Westside JV Boys/Bx Team.
