Fall is the Club/Free Agent season for the Girls/Gx Team
Fall is an excellent time for Girls/Gx* players to join up with Ultimate and give it a try, even if they have never played before. This season is more like a “rec” season, with less practices and one game a week. Please bring a friend!! For this Fall season, Free Agents can come from any school without having to go through a waiver process.
Girls/Gx players are invited to start working out on Monday, Aug 19th from 4-6pm at the Lincoln Park Field, just south of the North playground. Be sure to bring a light and a dark, cleats, and a water bottle. Practices will be Mon-Fri that week, and the next, ending on Friday, August 30th. Practices are not mandatory these two weeks, however, this is a great time to get back in shape and build stamina, as well as meet and work with teammates and coaches. Interested players may come to one practice to check it out, but must register with DiscNW to continue to practice after that.
Players will pay two fees to play with Westside Ultimate. The Player Fee is the one that you pay to DiscNW when you register, and is on a sliding scale, and is not reported to the team admin. The Team Fee is one that we charge to cover the costs of the fields, coaching, and running the club. Our Team Fee is $200, and we also have different levels to accommodate all budgets. All players must select an option and complete payment at our Square Store (if opted) to be eligible to play in their first game. Donations to cover other players’ fees are gratefully accepted (unfortunately we can’t provide a tax receipt).
The schedule is yet to be determined, but will likely be 2-3 practices/week after school, and one game on a field, around the city. DiscNW will schedule the games in a few weeks, and can be either Saturday or Sunday.
We will have an online Team Q&A Meeting, Sunday, August 20th @ 8pm, if you are not registered for a team at that time, please rsvp for the link. This may seem mostly about the Boys/Bx season, but everyone is welcome and we’ll discuss all the teams.
