Update: February 2022
All Spring 2022 participants will be required to be vaccinated. Please see this announcement from DiscNW:
Starting with the 2022 spring season, DiscNW will require all participants to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to participate in leagues, tournaments, and other events. Participants will be asked to upload an image of their vaccination records during registration.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting the health and well-being of the DiscNW community has been our top priority. Requiring athletes to be fully vaccinated will reduce the need to quarantine teams, which could also prevent the cancellation of games, practices, and potentially entire seasons. Vaccines are an effective way to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and this mandate allows us to keep our players on the field as safely as possible.
In making this decision, the DiscNW Return to Play Task Force reviewed recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Washington State Department of Health, as well as other sports and health organizations. Proof of full vaccination is required as more infectious variants of COVID-19 continue to appear and spread. At this time, fully vaccination means that you have received all recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been authorized or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. We strongly encourage a booster shot for those who are more than 6 months out from their last vaccine shot. DiscNW will review requests for health or religious exemptions on a case-by-case basis.
We will soon pilot this COVID-19 vaccine policy with a few winter events. Please read all event information and requirements carefully prior to registration. Thank you for your understanding, and please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions!
Masks and Safety Protocols will be in place until further notice:
Effective immediately all players, coaches, and staff attending games and practices must wear an effective mask over their nose and mouth at all times. Vaccinated players are no longer allowed to remove their masks during competition. As of 9/23/21 this update supersedes any previous mask guidelines found in previously published DiscNW documentation.
All attendees (players, staff, coaches, and spectators) MUST wear a mask at all times during DiscNW HS events. Anyone failing to do so will be asked to leave and may face additional sanctions from DiscNW
